How You Can Help
The Heritage precinct is New Zealand's Best Collection of Victorian Buildings
The Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust owns sixteen mercantile buildings in Harbour and Tyne Streets, in what is locally known as the Heritage Precinct. Each of the buildings, built during the Victorian period, has it's own story, character and charm.
These unique buildings need on going restoration work, the trust fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds to help protect this important part of New Zealand's history,
The trust has an ongoing schedule of works which include facade restoration and roof work
With over 8000 sqm of roof and 12,500sqm of floor space the trust needs your support.

Leave a Legacy
How it Works
There are four main types of gifts you can choose to leave to a charity. You can talk to a lawyer about the type of gift best suits you and your estate. Remember, gifts left to charities in wills are exempt from any inheritance or capital gains tax.
Residual: The remainder of your estate after considering your loved ones.Percentage or fractional: A gift expressed as a percentage or fraction of your estate.
Pecuniary or specific: A specified gift which can be money, property or stocks and shares.
Whole estate: This comprises your entire estate and is usually left by those without beneficiaries or those wanting to achieve something very significant.
Gifts of Money
You don’t need to have a lot of money to leave a gift in your will. Anyone can leave a gift to the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust and we welcome all gifts, large or small.
Money from bequests will be particularly valuable to us for maintaining and interpreting our heritage properties and assist in maintaining our collection of historic objects and precious items relating to our properties in the Precinct.
If you wish to talk to us directly regarding a possible gift (either under your will or during your lifetime) please call our Property Manager Jacob Barwick on (03) 4345385 or email him and he will arrange for one of the Trustees to contact you directly.
